A little about my journey
I was told I would likely never run again after years of contact sports and competitive running.
Sitting hurt, walking hurt, moving hurt.
I started doing yoga on, really, a whim. I won't lie-
I . did . not . get . it.
Being still wasn't my thing, and RELAXING was not in my wheelhouse.
I was meant for POWER, baby!
Oh, yeah, and I couldn't touch my toes...
Little did I know, my strength would compound, and my injuries would subside
as soon as I learned to slow down.
Who woulda thunk!?
I also learned that by repetition of proper alignment,
I could re-teach my body to have better habits,
resulting in improved posture, less pain, and a better overall attitude.
I now run multiple half marathons a year, and some are even straight up mountains. (Yes, I am a wee bit nutty.)
My classes are inclusive and encouraging.
We all have different abilities, and we all benefit from cheering each other on!
All classes start with a short meditation at the beginning, and a relaxing savasana at the end
Mindfulness is an important part of the yoga experience, and it's a key component of my classes.
Did you know that the physical movements of yoga were actually created
to prepare the body for long bouts of sitting meditation?!
Linking body to breath in a meditative way is a beautiful experience that I love introducing to people.
Each time you find yourself dreamily moving in synch with your breath is just as fresh as the first time.
I look forward to sharing a practice with you soon!
